Role overview

Lead cybersecurity architecture and assessments for wind energy products, turbine components, SCADA, wind farm software and digital services. Apply secure development lifecycle practices aligned with IEC 62443.

The work

Assess products and components; guide security controls through requirements, design and validation; perform threat modeling and risk assessments; document vulnerabilities and recommend remediation. Work with engineering, product, services and research teams to integrate security into product development. Develop assessment tools and practices, review customer documentation and hardening guides, and provide technical guidance during product incidents, vulnerability response and customer inquiries.

Required qualifications: An accredited bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology or a related field. At least 12 years of relevant cybersecurity or operational technology experience, including at least 8 years in OT cybersecurity or product cybersecurity.

Location and eligibility: Fully remote anywhere in the United States. Candidates in Greenville, South Carolina or Schenectady, New York are prioritized. Ability and willingness to travel up to 10%; travel may be up to 20% for candidates outside those hub areas. Legal authorization to work in the United States is required; an offer is subject to successful drug screening as applicable. Relocation assistance is available.

Desired qualifications: At least 4 years with product security requirements, regulations or standards such as IEC 62443. Knowledge of security tools and configuration recommendations, wind turbine or SCADA product security, network security, Docker/Kubernetes, cloud security, secure coding and OT penetration testing. A relevant master’s degree and certifications such as GICSP, CEH, CCNA or CISSP are desired. Familiarity with PLCs and industrial protocols including Modbus, Profinet, DNP3, OPC and IEC 61850; strong communication, independent and cross-functional collaboration, problem solving and product vulnerability response.
